Purple Jade

Jadeite forms mainly in metamorphic rocks subjected to high pressures and relatively low temperatures. It can form from the decay of some minerals such as albite. Albite is a fairly common mineral in the Earth’s crust; when pressure increases, albite loses stability and transforms into the high-temperature mineral association of jadeite + quartz.
